WINONA, Minn. — Raheem Anthony (Chicago, Ill.) was virtually unstoppable in the Saint Mary's University men's basketball team's two conference games last week — and the junior's efforts did not go unnoticed.

Anthony — who averaged a double-double of 22.5 points-per-game and 10.0 rebounds-per-game in Saint Mary's 73-70 loss to Gustavus last Wednesday and its 77-64 victory over Bethel three days later — was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Anthony kicked off his week by scoring a team-high 23 points and adding 12 rebounds in the Cardinals' three-point loss to Gustavus. The junior went 8 of 19 from the field with one 3-pointer and finished 6 of 8 from the free throw line, while grabbing seven offensive rebounds and five defensive boards en route to his fourth double-double of the season.

Three nights later, Anthony was at it again, once again leading the team in scoring with 22 points in the Cardinals' 13-point victory over Bethel. He went 8 of 12 from the field and 6-for-8 from the line, and missed his second straight double-double by two rebounds, while chipping in seven assists.

For the week, Anthony went 16-for-31 from the field — including 1-for-3 from beyond the arc — and was 12 of 16 from the free throw line. He hauled in 20 rebounds, dished out 12 assists, and finished with four steals and one block.

Anthony and the Cardinals are back in action on Monday night, taking on St. Olaf in a 7 p.m. MIAC matchup at the Saint Mary's Gym.
