Gearin, Schneider pace Cardinals

COLFAX, Wis.— It was a picture-perfect day for a meet Friday afternoon, and the Saint Mary's University cross country teams took advantage.
 
Granton Schneider (Moorhead, Minn.) led the charge for the Cardinal men at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational, posting an eight-kilometer time of 26:43.61, while Caroline Gearin (Osceola, Wis.) delivered her best time of the season, stopping the clock in 25:50.37 to lead the way for the SMU women.
 
Gabriel Bickerstaff (Rollingstone, Minn.) chipped in a time of 27:54.03 and Isaiah Brindamour (Hinckley, Minn.) added a 30:13.51 effort for the SMU men, while Caeli McMahon (Holmen, Wis.) delivered a 6K time of 26:18.01, followed by Megan Frosch (Oconomowoc, Wis. / 27:17.48), Abbie Meyer (Sauk Centre, Minn. / 27:20.32), and Amanda Tuvey (West St. Paul, Minn. / 30:03.53) for the Cardinal women.
 
The Cardinals are now off until Oct. 15, when they head to Maple Grove Venues in West Salem, Wis., to take part in the UW-La Crosse Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitationals.
