WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University women's basketball team had four players — seniors Brooklyn Paulson (Holmen, Wis.) and Ashley Streveler (Colby, Wis.), junior Katelyn Cruze (Litchfield, Minn.), and sophomore Izzy Goettelman (Winona, Minn.) — who earned College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District® honors, it was announced Tuesday.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Athletes must carry a 3.50 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale, have appeared in 50 percent of the team's contests, and made a significant impact on the field of competition to be eligible.

Paulson, who closed out her senior year with a team-leading 16.5 ppg scoring average — and ended her career as the all-time leader in consecutive starts (107), 3-pointers (255) and 3-point attempts (724), while also sitting No. 3 all-time in scoring — boasts a 3.95 cumulative GPA as a Biology, Pre-Physical Therapy, and Psychology triple major. Streveler, an Elementary Education major with a 3.97 GPA, finished the year averaging 9.4 ppg, while Cruze (Secondary Education/History, 3.72 GPA) closed out the season averaging 7.3 ppg and was second to Paulson with 153 rebounds (6.1 rpg) and Goettelman (Elementary Education, 3.54 GPA) capped her sophomore year by averaging 10.1 ppg and hauling in 103 rebounds (4.1 rpg).

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early March.
