RIPON, Wis. – The Cardinal men's soccer team hit the road for their final non-conference match up of the season Tuesday afternoon to take on the Ripon Red Hawks. The Cardinals defeated the Red Hawks by one with a late goal from
Cohan Hare.

The Cardinals first chance to jump ahead came at the 10
th minute after earning their second corner kick of the game with a ball that spit out to
Lars Bergo for the Cardinals first shot at the goal, missing wide.

After applying pressure against the Red Hawks for 10 minutes more minutes, the Cardinals found two more chances off a free kick from Hare and
Francesco Cardone that were each saved by the goalie.

The Red Hawks turned things around and had the next four shot attempts on the Cardinals, each resulted in a save from
Daniel Sessler.
Lucas de Godoy tried to take a lead before the half with a sneaky pass finding his feet but it was contested heavily from the Red Hawk keeper.

Even with the Cardinals seven shots on goal to the Red Hawks 10, neither team could break the stalemate within the first 45 minutes of action.

The Cardinals started the second half red hot as they tallied two corner kicks and two shots from Cardone and Hare within the first three minutes. Hare had another attempt on goal after taking a free kick on goal outside the box at the 61
st minute.

The Cardinals fell back on their heels after being in charge the majority of the first 20 minutes as the Red Hawks were forcing turnovers in the midfield leading to a few scares for the Cardinal defense.

Diego Giles had the best look of the game with seven minutes remaining after a break away shot was blocked by the Red Hawk goalie.

That was until Hare snagged the game winning breakaway goal low to the right to get past the goalie to give the Cardinals the lead with four minutes remaining.

The Cardinals goal went unanswered as they went one to break the stalemate and win by one.

Junior, Hare, leads the team in goals with seven on the season.

The Cardinals return to action Saturday, October 12
th as they travel to take on Bethel at 3:30 p.m.
