ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Saint Mary's women's soccer team traveled to the cities to take on the Hamline Pipers for their last regular game of the season Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals defeated the Pipers 2-0. The team already received an invitation to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's six-team post-season tournament and will host the first round next week.

The Cardinals had all the confidence in the world going into this match knowing they secure another game. The game started hot with an immediate corner kick for the Cardinals within the first three minutes. After the quick start, neither team could get the ball near the net for the next ten minutes for slow play.

Lauryn Skoruppa, who leads the team in goals, nets the first of the game to get the Cardinals on the board and gives them the lead.
Samantha Munson capitalized off an error of a goal kick and fed Skoruppa wide open in front of the Piper net at the 24
th minute.
Kaylen Pray and Caleai Heier each had a good look on goal before the half.

The Cardinals held onto the one goal lead going into halftime.

With some energy, the Cardinals scored within five minutes of the second half off a beautiful flick from Munson to soar over the Piper goalie. Skoruppa assisted on the shot as the two connected on the Cardinals first goal as well.

Neither team had any chances on goal for the next 15 minutes of play. The Cardinal's only took two shots in the second half, one of which landed in the back of the net.

The Cardinals are now onto the post season tournament where they look to host the first round of action early next week.
