RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Cardinals women's tennis team opened up its 2024-2025 season with its first fall matches at UW-River Falls. Liv Molumby and Harsha Gangasani were among the two scorers in the 2-5 loss.
 
Creating a close match in almost each set, the Cardinals young starting lineup could not pick up one more point to turn the score around. Second Doubles had two match points before going down in their match.
 
Emily Dondelinger and Elena Ruzevich at one and two singles went into super breakers before ultimately losing the close match.
 
Molumby def. Alicia Langbehn 6-4, 7-5 and Gangasani def. Grace Aerts 6-3, 6-4 leading the Cardinals for the season with each a recorded win.
 
The doubles team with Gangasani and Maddie Jensen def. Alica Langbehn and Avery Watzke 6-3.
 
"The Ladies put up a battle today," Coach Jeff Halberg said "I'm really proud of their effort that they put in their first match of the season."
 
The Cardinal women's tennis team travels to Mankato to take on Bethany Lutheran on Saturday, Sept. 14^th at 11:0am.
