WINONA, Minn. — Saint Mary's juniors Ryan Pavelka (Homer Glen, Ill.) and Ryan Horlock (Batavia, Ill.) have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, the organization announced Tuesday, Nov. 25.

To qualify for CSC Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least sophomores, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and meet sport-specific athletic eligibility requirements.

This marks the first Academic All-District honor for both Cardinals.

Horlock, Saint Mary's standout goalkeeper, anchored the defense all season. He faced 221 shots, made 79 saves, recorded two shutouts, and set a career high with 15 saves against Saint John's on Oct. 28. The Business Intelligence and Analytics and Sports Management double major appeared in 15 games.

Pavelka was a steady force on the backline, playing in all 18 games and logging 1,416 minutes which was the second-most on the team. The undecided major also scored in a 5–0 win over North Central on Sept. 24.

The Cardinals closed the season with a 4–11–3 record, including a 1–8–1 mark in MIAC play.
