BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its annual award winners for women's cross country on Thursday.
For the second straight year, Saint Mary's sophomore standout Mya Slavin has earned postseason recognition from the MIAC — this time claiming All-Conference honors after a remarkable 2025 campaign.
After earning honorable mention accolades as a freshman, Slavin took things to another level this fall, finishing fourth overall at the 2025 MIAC Championships. Her performance was nothing short of historic as she shattered both her personal best and the program 6K record, clocking a time of 21:51 to post the highest individual finish in Saint Mary's women's cross country history.
Her record-setting effort eclipsed the previous school mark by a full minute, officially etching her name atop the Cardinals record books.
This wasn't her first record-breaking performance of the season, either. Back in early September, Slavin made headlines at the season-opening meet, placing 19th out of 319 runners while smashing her previous 5K personal best by nearly a minute. Her time of 17:57 not only set a new PR but also became the fastest 5K ever run by a female Cardinal in either cross country or track and field.
The St. Charles, Minn., native isn't done rewriting history just yet. She'll look to continue her record-breaking season at the NCAA North Regional meet in Colfax, Wisconsin, on Saturday, November 15.
