BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Lindsey Lettner has played a pivotal role in leading the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota women's basketball team to one of the most remarkable turnaround seasons in history.

Not only was she a sharp shooter for the team but she was as sharp as a pencil in the classroom!

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recognized some of its best and brightest winter-sport student-athletes on Thursday with the announcement of the basketball, hockey, swimming & diving, and indoor track & field Elite 22 Awards.

The accounting major boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA. The Trempealeau, Wisconsin native received the MIAC's prestigious Elite 22 Award for women's basketball for her commitment in the classroom.

Outside of the classroom, Lettner led the team with 34 three-pointers made, contributing to a total of 176 points for the season.

She was a crucial guard, known for her tenacity, recording 19 steals, while also working hard to create opportunities for her teammates with 37 assists.

Lettner played a key role in helping the Cardinal team achieve a 13-12 record and secure a spot in the MIAC postseason tournament.
