DULUTH, Minn. - It has been a month since the Saint Mary's tennis team (11-8) last hit the road for competition. Today, they traveled to face the St. Scholastica Saints (9-5) but were unable to close the gap, ultimately losing 6-3.
Doubles partners
Alli Laux and
Elena Ruzevich kicked off the match with an 8-4 victory, but it was the Cardinals only doubles win of the evening.
Laux claimed another win in a thrilling tiebreaker at No. 1 singles, securing a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 victory.
In another tiebreaker,
Emily Dondelinger secured the team's only other point, winning her No. 4 singles match 2-6, 6-4, 1-0.
The Cardinals look to rebound as they travel to UW-Stout tomorrow for a 12:30 p.m. match to wrap up non-conference play.
