The lone goal of the match was scored in the first half, and despite a strong performance from Saint Mary's goalkeeper Ryan Horlock, who recorded eight saves, the Cardinals could not find the back of the net.

The Scots defense held firm, securing the shutout victory.

Horlock faced 14 total shots.

Dylan Goedderz led the team in shots with three, two of which were on target.

The first half commenced with the Cardinals showcasing a solid defensive effort, as goalkeeper Horlock made several key saves to deny the Scots early advances.

As the half progressed, Macalester found the net in the 39th minute when Milan Shah scored, giving the Scots a 1-0 lead.

The Cardinals continued to press forward, but the half concluded with the Scots maintaining their advantage.

The second half began with Saint Mary's pressing to equalize after trailing by one. Goedderz sparked the offense with a shot on target in the 59th minute, but Macalester's Drew Moseman made the save.

Just minutes later, Caleb Gilbert took a shot in the 63rd, only to be denied as well.

As the half progressed, Horlock made crucial saves to keep the Scots from extending their lead, he was extremely active between the posts.

Despite several attempts from Thomas Laaksonen, Rojan Monger, and Ryan Pavelka, the Cardinals offense couldn't find the back of the net after forcing back-to-back corners.

The half closed with the Cardinals trailing 1-0, as the Cardinals score remained unchanged.
