BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Student-athletes in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) continue to achieve in both athletics and the classroom. On Wednesday, the MIAC announced its Academic All-Conference honorees for the 2025-26 fall semester, including 850 student-athletes.
To qualify for Academic All-MIAC status, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors by academic standards with a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students must also complete one full-time academic year at their current institution before becoming eligible for the honor.
Football led all fall sports this year with a record 219 honorees, exceeding 200 honorees for the second year in a row. Women's soccer also eclipsed the 200 mark, setting a new sport record with 207 this fall - 26 more than the previous high of 181 set last year. Women's cross country had 116 honorees, while volleyball had 110, and men's soccer had 104. Men's cross country totaled 94 honorees, two shy of the sport's all-time record of 96, set last year.
At Saint Mary's, we also are setting our own records.
This fall, we had a record high 48, eight more than the previous season, fall student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference list for their achievements in and out of the sport.
To start the list, a program-record 25 women's soccer student-athletes earned team honors which led the conference to.
- Lauren Ashe (Beaverton, Ore.), Ana Beckman (Claine, Minn.), Hannah Beix (Waconia, Minn.), Sophia Binder (Sycamore, Ill.), Hannah Bradley (Portland, Ore.), Sadie Chrusciel (Geneva, Ill.), Kaelyn Clasen (Kent, Wash.), Lauren Fields (Vail, Ariz.), Caleia Heier (Hudson, Wis.), Erica Howard (Black Hills, S.D.), Kristen LaDue (Rochester, Minn.), Melanie LaDue (Rochester, Minn.), Peyton Maier (Elk River, Minn.), McKenzie Munson (Plain City, Utah), Samantha Munson (Plain City, Utah), Abby Nachand (Castle Rock, Color.), Gracie Nell (Hudson, Wis.), Anna Peckosh (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), Kiley Randoll (Muscatine, Iowa), Sarah Ringland (Spokane, Wash.), Lauryn Skoruppa (Littleton, Colo.), Macava Smith (Cloquet, Minn.), Janielle Stanoch (Waconia, Minn.), Malerie Williams (Osseo, Minn.), and Maya Wunschel (Richland, Minn.).
Another team that reached a program best is the Saint Mary's volleyball team who posted 11 to the honors list:
- Maddie Baker (St. Cloud, Minn.), Gretchen Bredberg (Brandon, Minn.), Brenna Bruchert (Eau Claire, Wis.), Devann Clemens (Chatfield, Minn.), Kinlee Grattan (Hoka, Minn.), Brianna Hanneken (Pine River, Minn.), Grace King (Clayton, Minn.), Paige Klug (Caledonia, Minn.), Kali Olson (New York Mills, Minn.), Emma Rommes (Caledonia, Minn.), and Lindsey Rossow (Rochester, Minn.).
The Cardinal men's soccer team claimed another year of seven on the academic list:
- Ryan Horlock (Batavia, Ill.), Brandt Konik (Oronoco, Minn.), Gabe Le (Burnsville, Minn.), Caleb Gilbert (Gig Harbor, Wash.), Ryan Pavelka (Homer Glen, Ill.), Baltazar Rojas (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and CJ Tree (Pine Island, Minn.).
