WINONA, Minn. — On a windy Saturday afternoon, the Saint Mary's women's soccer team (4-10-1, 2-6-0) battled a regionally ranked Carleton Knights (10-1-1, 8-0-0) squad. The Cardinals fell 2-0 in the MIAC matchup.
A foul and a free kick put the Knights up 1-0 at the 23-minute mark. The Cardinals struggled against the conference's No. 1 defense and couldn't find a shot in the first half.
The Cardinals put more pressure on the Knights and played more aggressively in the second half, but the early second-half goal made the comeback tough.
Kaylen Pray, Hannah Bradley, and Sofia Serafin had the team's best chances.
Looking Ahead
The program looks forward to hosting Concordia (MN) on Wednesday, Oct. 21, for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
