WINONA, Minn. – As Saint Mary's begins its Hall of Fame spotlight series leading up to the Cardinal Excellence Fund Dinner, it's only fitting to start with someone who knows plenty about finishing first. Bailey Edwards, B'12, stands as one of the most accomplished players in the history of the Saint Mary's women's tennis program.

Her impact on Cardinal athletics extended well beyond the court, and now her legacy will be permanently etched in program history. The Saint Mary's University Athletic Department, in collaboration with the Saint Mary's Alumni Association, will induct Edwards into the Saint Mary's Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 21, 2026. She will be honored alongside fellow former student-athletes Steve Brieske, B'92, and Kate Jerman '97 during the Cardinal Excellence Fund Dinner on campus.

"When my coach called to share the news, I truly didn't know what to say — for the first time in my life, I was completely speechless," Edwards said of learning about her induction. "Being chosen for this honor is incredibly meaningful, and I am so thankful to be recognized by a program and university that mean so much to me."

During her four-year career, Edwards competed in every match at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, a testament to her consistency and leadership. She remains the program's all-time leader in career doubles wins with 58, and ranks third in career singles victories with 57. In single-season records, she sits fourth and seventh in singles wins, while holding both the first- and fifth-best marks in doubles wins.

"This honor means everything to me as it reflects years of hard work on and off the court and the incredible support system that surrounded me during my time at Saint Mary's University," she said. "I am grateful to be recognized and proud to be part of this program's legacy."

A three-time First-Team All-MIAC selection in both singles and doubles, Edwards built a résumé defined by excellence and determination.

"I made lifelong friendships that I know will stay with me forever, both on and off the court. Being part of the Saint Mary's tennis team gave me unforgettable experiences, from daily practices and competitions to the opportunity to travel to Europe and represent the university abroad."
