WINONA, Minn. – There's no slowing down for Cardinals athletics, even over spring break.

TRACK & FIELD CROWNS THREE MIAC CHAMPIONS

The Saint Mary's women's track and field team delivered a standout performance at the MIAC Indoor Championships, capturing three individual conference titles.

Mya Slavin shattered the school record in the mile, racing to a first-place finish in 5:00.60. Zari Young defended her crown in the 55-meter dash, going back-to-back while breaking her own school record with a blazing 7.14. Samantha Munson capped the championship effort by claiming gold in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.42.

On the men's side, Ryan Cramer added his name to the record books, placing second in the 55-meter dash while setting a new school record of 6.45.

Next up, the Cardinals head to UW–La Crosse for the NCAA Final Qualifier, looking to secure spots at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Alabama.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PUNCHES NCAA TICKET

It was an emotional 48 hours for the Cardinal women's basketball team, waiting to learn if their season would continue. On Monday, March 2, their answer came during the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Selection Show — Saint Mary's is tournament bound for the first time in more than a decade.

The Cardinals will travel to Oshkosh, where the Titans will host the opening rounds. Saint Mary's faces Wisconsin Lutheran in a 4:45 p.m. first-round matchup. It marks just the fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. With a win, the Cardinals will advance to face the winner of Oshkosh and Webster on Saturday.

BASEBALL OPENS FLORIDA SLATE

Saint Mary's baseball (3-2) kicked off its annual Florida trip Sunday night with a split against Trine, earning an 11-8 victory before falling 5-3.

The Cardinals faced Wartburg on Monday and will continue their spring stretch with Concordia Chicago on Thursday, a Friday doubleheader against Illinois College, and a Saturday finale against Hope to wrap up the eight-game run.

SOFTBALL SET FOR GEORGIA SHOWDOWN

It's a big week for Cardinal softball (8-0) as they begin play in Georgia with a doubleheader against LaGrange starting at 3:30 p.m. The team then turns its attention to the prestigious NFCA Leadoff Classic, squaring off with some of the nation's top programs.

Saint Mary's opens tournament play Friday, March 6, against Pomona-Pitzer at 3:00 p.m., followed by Denison. The tournament wraps up Sunday. The Cardinals last claimed the NFCA Leadoff Classic title in 2002.

MEN'S HOCKEY SEASON ENDS IN SEMIFINAL

The Saint Mary's men's hockey team (14-10-2, 10-5-1) saw its season come to a close Saturday, Feb. 28, falling 6-1 to Gustavus Adolphus in the MIAC Semifinals.
