WINONA, Minn. — It's finally time, Saint Mary's baseball and softball are set to make their long-awaited home debut this spring, and Cardinal fans can return to campus to catch the action.
BASEBALL HOME WEEK
Fresh off an impressive road sweep of Saint John's, highlighted by 3-2 and 4-1 victories, the Saint Mary's baseball team (12-6, 2-0 MIAC) heads into its home stretch with momentum on its side. Riding a seven-game win streak, the Cardinals are eager to put on a show in front of their home crowd.
Saint Mary's will host UW-Eau Claire in its final nonconference matchup of the season on Tuesday, Mar. 31, with a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. The schedule was moved up a day due to weather concerns. Conference play resumes Saturday, April 4, when the Cardinals welcome Hamline for another doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
SOFTBALL RETURNS TO ACTION
After a three-week break, the No. 4 Saint Mary's softball team (14-2) is ready to get back on the field. The Cardinals haven't played since Mar. 8 in Georgia, but now return home to open conference play in front of their fans.
Saint Mary's will host St. Catherine in its home opener on Wednesday, Apr. 1, with a doubleheader set for 3:30 p.m. The Cardinals will then face Augsburg on Saturday, April 4, with first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
TRACK AND FIELD BACK IN IOWA
The Saint Mary's track and field team kicked off its outdoor season at the Central College Invite in Pella, Iowa, competing against a wide range of programs across divisions. The Cardinals made an early statement with eight personal-best performances.
They return to Iowa this weekend for the Luther Norse Invitational, which begins Saturday, Apr. 4, at 11:00 a.m.
