Women's Tennis Falls in Season Finale

SAINT PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Mary's women's tennis team closed out its 2026 season on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Hamline, 7-0, in a road matchup in Saint Paul.

The Cardinals (6-9-1 overall, 1-8 MIAC) battled throughout the lineup but were unable to break through against a strong Pipers squad.

Hamline set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches. The No. 1 pairing of Elena Ruzevich and Emily Dondelinger dropped a 6-1 decision, while Olivia Molumby and Kathryn Stiegel fell by the same score at No. 2. At No. 3, Harsha Gangasani and Taylor DePover were defeated 6-2.

In singles play, the Cardinals continued to compete point-for-point despite the final scoreline.

Ruzevich led off at No. 1 singles, falling 6-3, 6-4 in one of the tighter matches of the day. Aheli Patel pushed her opponent in the first set at No. 3 singles before coming up short, while Gangasani also showed resilience in her match at No. 4.

Dondelinger, DePover, and Stiegel rounded out the singles lineup for Saint Mary's, each facing tough opposition as the Pipers completed the sweep.

Despite the result, the match marked the conclusion of a season that featured perseverance and competitive play across the lineup for the Cardinals.

Saint Mary's will look to build on that experience heading into the 2027 campaign.
