COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – In game two of a busy three-game week, the Saint Mary's men's soccer (0-8-2, 0-4-0) team took on No. 24-ranked Saint John's Johnnies (10-1-0, 2-1-0) in Collegeville Wednesday afternoon.
The Cardinals had no answer for two early goals in each half, falling 4-0.
Within the first ten minutes, the Cardinals had a few chances with free kicks. Gio Barron had the team's best two shots early.
Trailing by two at the half, the team looked to try something different. Caleb Gilbert had a crack on goal early in the half. Later, Cadel Wolf and Xander Lebakken each had the next best look, but it was not enough as the team found themselves already in a four-goal deficit.
It was all Johnnies.
Looking Ahead
The team will take two days to gear up to host the Hamline Pipers on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3:30 p.m.
