Amy Bids Farewell

Amy Bids Farewell

People always tell you that your four years of college will fly by, I never believed them until I sat down to write my senior salute. I can't believe that soccer is coming to an end, but I've had some of the greatest times and created many wonderful memories with these girls. It's scary to think that this time next year, I'll be graduated and have a job (hopefully).

I can't possibly sum up 15 years of soccer that got me to this point, but here goes. I'd like to thank some of those who influenced me the most. First, of course, my parents; Mom and dad, thank you for all the support, time, and money you have invested in my soccer career. I know that I can always look at the sidelines and see my #1 fans. Mom, thank you for no longer yelling nonsense things from the stands ;). I love you both! Scott, although you will never outshine your big sister, I applaud your attempts. You've become quite the goalie! Katy, thank you for putting up with all the "soccer this, hockey that" and letting me crash on your couch.

To my high school friends, teammates, and coaches, thank you for helping me become the player I am today. Nicki, although you may never read this, it was always me and you against the rest. You're the best friend anyone could ask for, miss you. To my youth and high school coaches, thank you for pushing me to become a better player and helping me with my soccer career.

To the Kappa Kappa Hill sisterhood, 201 pleasant hill has been good to us. Paulson and Kaufmann, thank you for taking me in sophomore year we had a lot of fun, you guys are welcome to crash on our couch any day! D. Winks and Zuca soccer just wasn't the same without you guys this year! Dana please come home so the three of us can be reunited again next year! Thank you for all the fun times we've had and will continue to have. My mom's reading this so I'll have to edit, but scrabble soon? Caiti and Francie, thank you for making this year an interesting one so far. Freshmen year you seemed a little crazy and weird, but I'm glad we've gotten to know each other! Also, I'm glad Ernie and Moose have become such good friends! Mush bucket?

To my fellow seniors, hmm. England was a successful start to our senior year. Friedl, thank you for being our roommate, documenting our trip, and never waking us up on time. I'm so happy you decided to play soccer again this year, you rock. KP thank you for making me walk through that door and waking coach up. You are the best part-time roomie ever. I don't know what I would do without you this year. Tania, we went from 11 to 2. I still remember the first day freshmen year, we've come a long way! Thank you for stepping up in England when we needed a goalie! I wish you all the future success.

To the juniors, Ash, KB, Schnieds, Rachel, Amanda, Caitlin, Ellie, Cassie, and Sloan. Ash and KB, can I call you Kashley? You're always my first call for a good time. You girls are crazy, but I love you. Can I sleep on your couch when I come back next year? Thanks. Schnieds, meow. Caitlin, thanks for stepping up and being great leader this year. Rachel, I wish I could be as positive as you, you are an awesome soccer player and person in general. Amanda, I'm glad we got to be offensive partners this year! Well...sorta. Thanks for stepping up and playing every position asked of you! Elanor, we are due for an ice cream date soon. Thank you for always giving your best and being positive! I know we will have many more great times this year. Cassie, it was nice to have you back this year, thanks for stepping up. Sloan, you have been a great addition to the team this year! Thank you for putting up with Emily's math talk.

Sophomore, Kate, I have never met anyone that works as hard as you. You push the rest of us to set up during practices and games! Freshmen, Kenzie, Tessa, Megan, Katie, Beth, and Teri, you guys have been a great addition to the team. It's been nice getting to know you so far this year. I hope we'll still see each other after the season is over! Enjoy soccer and college because it really does fly by.

Coaches, thank you for putting up with all of us over the years. Halberg, your dedication to the players and the program is what brought me here in the first place. Thank you for all your support these last four years! Zim, although I didn't come here thinking I'd be playing for you, I'm glad things turned out the way they did. Thank you for helping me become the player I am. Coach Mac, thanks for helping out this year and always being positive, magic. Lastly, thank you to everyone else that has supported us and the soccer program throughout the years. I couldn't have asked for a better soccer experience.
