Ryan Bids Farewell

I’ve spent four years at Saint Mary’s playing men’s soccer. There’s been good, bad, fun, and work. I’d like to thank my family. My mom has been my number one fan, starting when I was about five years old. My dad has been my number one influence in athletics since I was a little kid. I want to thank my brother and sister for coming to my games since I was a kid, even though I’m pretty sure my dad made them.

I’d like to thank all my friends and extended family that came to support me throughout my college career. I’d like to thank all the coaches, including Coach Dembiec, Coach McCaslin, and Coach Perrigo, Coach Jermaine (kind of), Nikki Fennern, and any other coaches involved with helping out the team. All the instruction and structure they provided on and off the field were great.

I’d like to thank all my teammates for a fun four years. Jon was always the old guy on the side that the refs thought was the assistant coach. Saint Mary’s will still be writing about him in 10 years. I’m pretty sure Luke hasn’t run since Oct. 31, 2009.

I’d like to thank all the players that came in with me as a freshman that stuck around (Juamaine, Boussie, Adair, Adam). I never thought there would only be five of us left. Boussie and Juamaine, we need to come up with $9,000 ASAP. Juvi and Jermaine, we could use you this year to throw “the brothas up front.” Then Boussie could move back to center back like freshman year. To Bobby and Brian, “It’s going to be a different kind of year.” I’d like to thank my “sick” back line that I was a part of my senior year (Adair, Gunnar, Bina, and whoever else got randomly stuck in there). Kameron, Tony, Lusch, Ji, and all you freshman, it’s been fun.

I’d like to wish Saint Mary’s men’s soccer teams good luck in the future and I’ll always support and cheer for the program.
