A Word From Coach Mannor

Madeline Lenz
In her freshman season Madeline  was voted Honorable Mention All-Conference as a goalie.  An accomplishment few have earned in their first season at that position.  Unfortunately after the first game of her sophomore season, her playing days were cut short due to concussions.  Not wanting to leave the sport in which she excelled, Madeline has remained with the team in the role of manager.  Her willingness to do whatever is needed shows that one does not have to be on the ice in order to excel as a teammate.

Dana Kreuser
Over the past four seasons, Dana  has proven to be one of the most consistent defensemen in the conference.  Her ability to remain calm under pressure allows her to read each on ice situation and determine the correct reaction more times than not.  Her calm and nurturing personality has also been a major asset to the dynamics of the lockerroom.

Nicole Olson
From the first time she pulled on a Cardinal uniform, Nicole has been an individual who has always led by example both on and off the ice.  A three time captain as voted on by her teammates, Nicole could always be seen striving to improve her game whether it be in the weightroom or shooting pucks before practice.  Her efforts have not gone un-noticed by her teammates or on the statistics sheet as Nicole enters tonight's game ranked as the program's eighth all- time leader in points.

Rachel Gates-Vickery
In Rachel I could always count on two things:  that she would always give maximum effort on the ice and do it with a smile on her face.  This season I asked Rachel to make the transition from defense to center.  After her first practice attempting to take face-offs, I thought maybe I made a mistake.  In the end, Rachel proved my decision to be the right one.  In accepting the challenge of changing positions, Rachel displayed her willingness to do whatever is best for the team.

Alex Braun
Having initially been trained as a figure skater, Alex’s superior skating skills can often be seen as she rushes the puck or plays a one on one in the corner.  A vocal leader Alex can always be heard encouraging her teammates both in practice and games.  Not one to keep her emotions inside, Alex’s competitive nature helps to drive her teammates to succeed.

Sheree Haslemore
Sacrifice is something every athlete must endure.  In Sheree’s case, the sacrifice could be seen as extreme.  Over the course of the last four years, Sheree has traveled home once while many of her fellow students go home on a weekly basis.  Not once did I ever hear her complain of this, complaining is not in her nature.  Rather she embraced her opportunity and while doing so, has left her mark on the program as one of the hardest workers day in and out.

Seniors as a group
It is on purpose that I choose to keep each individual salute simple.  With this class, I see the biggest strength not in the individuals, but in the group as a whole.  Each senior has their own unique personality and skills that they bring to the team.  Some are more on the boisterous side, some a little more reserved.  Regardless of their differences and similarities, they have over the course of the past four years come together as one to lead this problem is a positive manner.  I know the example they have set as to what it takes to be a Cardinal, both on and off the ice, has not gone un-noticed by the underclassmen.  I appreciate their hard work, dedication and sacrifice.  Madeline, Dana, Nicole, Rachel, Alex, Sheree, you will be missed.
