SMU Athletic Training: Visiting Teams

Visitors Guide

The Cardinal Athletic Training Staff would like to formally welcome you and your team to Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

The athletic training room — located on the bottom floor of the Michael H. Toner Student Center — will be open approximately one hour prior to the first event and will remain open for one hour after the last event ends.

The following services will be available upon your visit:
Injury ice and bags
Modalities: hydrocollator, electrical stimulation, ultrasound
Penetrating modalities (i.e stim/ultrasound) will not be provided unless your team travels with a Certified Athletic Trainer, or with appropriate documentation and instructions
Water, athletes will need to supply their own bottles. There will be no cups available
AED on-site
If your team is traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer:
Notify the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota athletic training staff ahead of time via email or phone
Ensure that your team travels with the appropriate supplies for taping and wound care
Send student-athlete insurance and contact information so that it may be available in the event of an emergency
We hope that this letter will answer any questions that you may have concerning the safety and medical care of your student-athletes. Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the athletic training staff with any questions.

For directions from Saint Mary’s University to the hospital or urgent care clinic please contact the Head Athletic Trainer or the Athletic Trainer at the site of competition.
