Brittany Bids Farewell
#42 Brittany Begrowicz | Forward | Des Plaines, Ill.
It’s crazy to think in a couple months I will be graduating and be in the real world. These five years have flown by too fast! I’ve made lifelong friendships through basketball. I will cherish the friendships and memories for the rest of my life.
I wouldn't be who I am or where I am without my wonderful parents! I know for a fact that I don't tell them enough how much I appreciate them for all they have done for the last 22 years! I know I could always count them to be there for me whenever I needed them. I know they probably wish I went to school closer to home so they could get to more games, but they made it to as many games as they could and I always loved seeing them in the stands! Thanks for all the time you both put in when I was younger with AAU ball, and all the camps and tournaments over the years! The time and money put into all that is unbelievable and I can't thank you enough for all the opportunities you guys gave me growing up! Thanks for pushing me and encouraging me to do what I want and believing in me that I can do it!
Mom- You coached me for 7 years, taught me basically everything I know! Thanks for all the hard work you put in to help me get the best I could be! I look back and now appreciate all the times I thought you were being so "hard" on me as my coach, it was only making me a better player! Thanks for everything you do for me, it is much appreciated and I love you!
Dad- although you never sat on the bench to coach me, you were still just as much as a coach as mom was! You were always there to talk to me after games telling me what I can do better or what I did well! I know you were tough on me when I was younger with ball and school, only because it would benefit me when I got older and it has! Thank you for everything you have do for me, I will always be your little girl! I love you!
Brian – What can I say maybe all those one-on-one games when we were younger taught me a thing or two and made me better! ;) But really those games did push me cause I couldn’t stand losing to you, even though it happened quite a bit. A lot of my toughness comes from you, from always fighting with me, I knew one day all that fighting when we were younger would pay off. Although you couldn’t make it to many games cause you were still in school and then got a job that requires you to work on Saturdays (why on earth would you do that?!) I know you made it to as many as you could with mom and dad and I appreciate that, I always liked seeing you in the stands with them every once in a while. I know we fought a lot when we were younger but you really are the best brother ever and I wouldn’t want our relationship to be any other way! And I will see you up here April 6th no questions asked, I’m sure my teammates wouldn’t mind either! ?
Coach Pearson – Thanks for giving me the opportunity to play for you. I know I wasn’t the easiest person to recruit and I’m sure some of phone calls were just as painful for you as they were for me haha. The amount of time you put into this team is unbelievable and it is much appreciated! We couldn’t have had all the success we have had without all your hard work and dedication! Thanks for everything over the years!!
Coach Freudenberg – Your knowledge of the game is unreal! I’ve learn so much from you as a coach the past couple years! Your dedication to this team is much appreciated! Thanks for always having your door open for us to come in and talk about anything and everything! Thanks for all your hard work and everything you do for us!
Coach Boese – The group of post on this team is probably one of the most unique and weirdest group of people you will ever meet! Thanks for all you did for us over the years!
Coach Ehlert – I’m glad I got to play with you for two years! I wish you were still coaching me but I know you are doing great things with your life! You always made practice fun! Court and I will have to come up and visit you once season is done since we’ve been talking about it for awhile now! ?_
Bill and Ben – Thanks for everything you guys have done for me, I probably wouldn’t be walking if it weren’t for you guys keeping me healthy! And to think I was going to make it through this year without any injuries, lucky for you guys you get another couple months with me now for rehab! ?
Court A. – I don’t even know where to start with you! Seems like just yesterday we were sitting at the scores table during practice trying to get the clock to stop at .1! We eventually got it a few times! Haha. The amount of jolly ranchers we went through is actually disgusting haha we at those like it was our job! After my surgery we should race around the basement on scooters for old times sake! ? I know I could always count on you for a smile or a laugh on my worst days! You are one crazy girl…if only people could see all the unique and special pictures I have of you on my phone! ? Your pregame speeches in the huddle are priceless, you do one hell of a job getting us pumped up for games! You are one of the hardest working players on this team and a lot of that goes unseen. I loved when you were on my team for any rebounding drills in practice cause I knew we were getting the ball! Finish off the rest of this season strong!
Janice – WUUUUUAAAAAAHHHHH! I know you are going to miss the random noises I make all the time! ? You have improved so much over the years! No one can stop you! Finish this year off strong! Maine West is still better than Maine South I don’t care if your boy friend went to Maine South! ?
Jess – I hope they give you some gum for your senior gift! ? just joking kind of haha I’m glad I could supply you with gum the past couple years at least haha You are a great player who has grown and accepted the leadership of this team over the years! Finish off the season strong!! Congrats on your 1,000th point this year too!!! You’re a stud!
Court E. – Just take some summer classes and graduate with us already would ya?! I always mistake you for being my age anyways! ? but seriously haha. I’m glad we ended up living together this year! Haha too many good times and a whole lot more to come before May! ? I love all the random stupid stuff we do haha people probably think we are crazy but who cares! You’ve grown so much as a player the past couple years! I can’t wait to see what next year brings for you! Keep working hard and make the most of your last year next year!!! Can’t wait to watch you, hopefully I’ll be in the cities so I’ll be able to come to a lot of your games too! ? I need to come to the farm soon again to say hi to the cows!! ?
Tay – Ladies first then sir ? When people tell me to text them to hang out over the summer, I usually text them to hang out…but when I tell you that, I don’t hear from you till September when we are back at school, K COOL! Hahaha I’m still going to obnoxiously text you everyday so get used to it! I love our hate for the same people ;) keep working hard day in and day out and busting your butt at practice like you always do and you will see good things come your way! Can’t wait to watch you the next couple years! Text me this summer to hang out?! ;) ps – I’m still faster then you! ;)
Adri – Ma’am you are one crazy lady, but I love it! Haha You ask some pretty great questions too! Adri for 3! Keep working hard and keep your head up! Your time will come to show them what you can do! Can’t wait to watch you over the next couple years! ?
Sara – I’m glad you came out of your shell more this year! ? you are a great player and always come up big for us whether we need a big shot, or a stop on defensive you always stood up and did it! Can’t wait to watch you over the next couple years and see you keep improving and stopping the other teams best player! ?
Kait – I’m going to finish this year with a better gpa then you just saying! ? haha who am I kidding! You are going to make one hell of a teacher! Keep working hard and make the most of everything next year! It’ll be over before ya know it! Can’t wait to come back at watch you next year! ?
Corrine – Loved being on the red team with you at practice! ? Keep shooting like you do!! Keep working hard! I’m excited to come watch you the next couple years!! ?
Darcey – Pretty impressive that you played basically all season with a broken pinky! Keep up the hard work and keep shooting the ball like you do! ? Look forward to watching you next year!
Nast – You are the best manager we could ask for! I appreciate everything you do for us! Always on top on giving us our water bottles when we come out and making sure they are filled up at practice! Keep doing what you do girl! I know I could always wake up and count on your being on our futon! ? can’t wait for North Carolina to beat your blue devils this year! ? and most importantly I can’t wait for the cubs to sweep the sox! Let’s go to a game!?!?
Andrew – Thanks for everything you did for our team! It is greatly appreciated! ?
Freshmen – Each and everyone of you brought so much to this team this year! I’m glad I got the opportunity to play a year with all of you guys! Keep working hard over the years and in the off season and you guys can continue to keep this program on the rise. Make the most out of these four years, and don’t take any of it for granted because it will be over before you know it! I’m looking forward to watching you guys grow as a team in the coming years!
Kim, Cherie, Jess and Emily – You guys set the bar high for this program and we have grown and have become successful because of you guys! You guys demonstrated hard work, togetherness, dedication, toughness, trust day in and day out, regardless of the outcome! You showed us what it took to be successful! You all have a lot to be proud of!
Coco – You were our biggest fan the past couple years! We could always count on your being front row at our home games cheering us on! I always here your witty comments even though I’m suppose to be focused on the game haha. I always looked forward to your game day text/tweets before every game! Look forward to you cheering us on during our playoff run this year again! ?
Rika – Your support for us over the years has been awesome! I knew I could always count of a text or tweet from you after games! See you in DP for fourth of July again!?? I better!!! You are always welcomed at my house even if I’m not there! ;)
