Rachel & Deanne Bid Farewell
Dear SMU puck,
It has come to our attention that we will be graduating this year. Unfortunately for you, we will no longer be on the team. That means you need to step it up and play some real tennis. Grace, beat the skirts off of those girls! Lindsay, continue to collect the W’s and by that we mean bring the action at all times. Leanne, keep killing those approach shots! Stacey, poach. Katie, next year no injuries? Kirsten, sing while you play. Lexi, keep hitting those home runs!
From Rachel:
D - De anne Webber! Well this ain’t goodbye. It has been a crazy four years of hanging out with you! Going from freshman year when you spilled a juice in your purse and ruined everything in it to hanging out every day eating lots of food. Because, of course, we are always eating. Last year was so fun becoming even closer to you due to unfortunate events, but everything does happen for a reason ?. You have opened my eyes to new experiences such as a world of fruit and gluten free goodies. I know eventually you will find that perfect natural Skippy man. (Shocker everything has to do with food). Let’s rage soon.
Grace - Grace. Grace. Grace! I bet you never knew that last one had an exclamation point! I am going to miss annoying you ever day and talking about HP! But most of all I am going to miss Bad Girls Club, all those great fights! It’s never a good fight unless something private is showing and weaves are being pulled. Have fun living in England. I have planned out your future for you: you are
going to meet your tall, dark and handsome man in England when you visit with the team and then you are going to stay and marry him and have tall, nice and beautiful children with him and they will have tiny little accents because you will be in England. Have a great last year, live it up like its ALWAYS the weekend!
Alexis - Hey big girl can you back it up? I am going to miss your big smile and your fun laugh! You are such a good time; no matter where we are I know it’s going to be fun! Unfortunately we are breaking up. So here’s my advice to you for next year catch lots of Thursday night snipes and on the weekend of March 17th be good! Have as much fun as you possibly can at SMU! Keep tanking on Pizza and other junk.
Lindsay - Bring the action! I will never have a greater dance partner then you. Any time I need a little pick me up I will def play that song and dance my heart out. Good times in the van rides core graphing our dances and jumping around in the back seat to obnoxious songs. I think everyone enjoyed our singing better than the actual music! Keep up your crazy backboard game; I know you’ll never get tired!
Stacey - Lil’ B. That is my new nickname for you. Getting to know you has been so fun! I hope you have a great year next year, but be safe, be good! Don’t die.
Leanne, Katie, Kirsten - Do something crazy! It has been so fun getting to know you this last year! Good luck next year with school, tennis and mostly with having fun! We all know how difficult that is! ? There is no team like SMU puck so live up your years with it.
From D:
Rachel- Sorry for party rocking?! Don’t ever change! If you want to eat 3 ice cream sundae’s for breakfast, watch trash TV, open a bakery, dance on a table, be a movie writer, and marry Lamar, go for it! You are always so fun to be around; I love all of our dance parties and will miss them when you are in California, feel free Derek along too so you can bond over the Kardashians, he’s your brother too! We have had so many memories and fun times over the past few years there is no way I could pick and choose what ones to share so I’ll just say this; thank you for all of them! I am excited for what will come next in your life for you and this is not good bye, it is to be continued…
Grace - I don’t know what I’ll do when you are not around to tell me what I should and should not do… this is scary. But I hope you find your tall, dark, and handsome man in England that loves Harry Potter, skulls, reading, and math as much as you do. Good luck with the long car rides without me next year. When everyone else is sleeping just remember my favorite color is still green, but if I could be a color it would definitely be yellow.
Lexi - At this point, you can do whatever you want (except break up with me). I love the fact that you can never shut up, you are loud, and are always up for anything! It is very 19 of you, but don’t change, keep breaking necks, sniping, and hang in there! I am glad we became best friends, everything happens for a reason! I hope England will be able to handle you next year; I won’t be around to keep an eye on you or make poor decisions with so please try not to get hurt, stay away from the other species, and live in the fake live as long as you can! Oh, and good luck with tennis ?
Lindsey - Well, I am sorry to say we have yet to ever finish a match together! I am glad we got to be court buddies and doubles partners (The Wobble Babies!) and keep hitting that spring break shot! I will miss the night sesh pj’s and your random facts of information you always have. You are a hard worker but don’t forget to let yourself have a break once in awhile and continue to bring the action.
Stacey - These past two years have been fun. I know you will enjoy your time in England, but don’t get too crazy! Good luck with becoming a teacher and with beans!
Leanne, Katie, and Kirsten - It was great to get to know you kids this year! Keep up the good work in tennis and have a great time in England! Enjoy your time at Saint Mary’s University; it is the best 4 years of your life.
Thanks for all the fun tennis seasons. The trips, bonding, and memories will be cherished forever. We would like to leave you with three things to sum it all up;
Wobble Baby!
Vamos SMU puck!
1 2 3 MARYS!
Love,
Deanne and Rachel
Coaches:
Thank you all so much for everything you have done for us. All of your time and effort that is put into each season is truly appreciated. Who knew that D would be hitting winners, Rachel makes it nasty, Dr. S. is a cat killer, Coach’s life changed because of one stolen teacup! And who new so much about Blake. Thanks for sticking with us and giving us so many opportunities both on and off of the court. We will remember them forever and we hope you won’t forget us!
