Kristin Bids Farewell

These past four years of swimming have gone by so fast. I can’t believe I am already finishing my senior year. I joined the team as a freshman not knowing what to expect, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made at SMU. My teammates have been my best friends and the people I have spent the most time with here. I love that our team is more like a family and that’s probably what I will miss most about SMU swimming.

Coach — Thanks for an awesome four years! I appreciate everything you do for the team and I’m glad that you have a such a good balance between fun and hard work. I’m going to miss coming to practice every day and being able to hang out in your office.

Seniors — Anna: It feels like we were just living in Skemp and I had to knock on your door to make sure you made it to morning practice. It has been great being on the team with you and you are always so supportive and helpful and I think everyone appreciates all you do for this team. I have enjoyed being captains together this year and will miss you next year. Beth: It’s been fun getting to know you better, especially this year and I enjoyed rooming with you in Puerto Rico. I’m glad you joined the team last year and it has been really nice having another senior on the team! Sarah: You have been one of my best friends since freshmen year and have been someone I can talk to and have fun with, even though we unfortunately kind of lost touch this year. I wish you the best and I know you will make an amazing teacher!

Juniors and Sophomores — You’re a crazy (in a good way) and fun bunch of people. I have had so much fun with you the past couple years and I will miss you guys. It is never boring with you and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to be on the team with you. I’ll miss hanging out with you in and out of the pool next year and I wish you all the best and I know you will all do great things.

Freshmen — It has been great getting to know you all this year and it has been fun watching you compete and improve. I wish you all the best and I hope this team will be as important and influential to you as it has been to me.

Mom, Dad, and Jenni — You have been super supportive these past four years by coming to meets and cheering me on whenever possible. Mom and Dad, I think my freshmen year you were at almost every meet. After freshman year it became a little harder to get to meets with moving to Florida and everything else, but you still came to so many of them. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you have been so supportive. I love you!
