Scott Bids Farewell
It seems like yesterday I was pulling up to the Old Village to unload my car for the first time. That being said, the time has gone by so fast it’s hard to believe. I credit this to being part of the hockey team here at Saint Mary’s. Being a part of the team has given me so many memories that I will never forget. There have many ups and downs along the way, but the past four years have been a blast and I’ll never forget them. I look back on the memories I will never forget, such as the bus rides, the 6 a.m. runs, the social events with the guys, 6 a.m. skates, cooking team meals on Thursdays, and most of all the time spent in the locker room with just the guys. These are memories that will last a lifetime and I could not have been happier to spend it with this senior class.
I would like to thank my family, friends, and past coaches who have supported me throughout my hockey career. I’d especially like to thank my parents, Lonnie and Vicky, they have made all this possible for me. If not for them, I would not have made it this far playing this game, or be attending Saint Mary’s University. Second, I would like to thank my sister Kristin, she has been there and supported me throughout everything including my hockey career. No matter the result of the game they are always waiting outside the rink with a smile on their faces.
Lastly I would like to thank all the teammates I have had here at Saint Mary’s. Things would not have been the same without the great friendships I have developed here with my teammates. Brad Denney, without you I would have not been able to make it through my classes, always keeping me up to date on what was going on and making sure I stay at the library to continue to study. Austin Balko, I will always remember the first day you got on campus and woke me up, and spending a lot of holidays together. Ryan Griffiths, first roommate, been through a lot with you, you’re a man that I can always count on to be there for anything. Michael Wolter, well there is never a dull moment when you’re around but the best part is you have EASTON to hang out with. Andrew Ketterer, thank you for always making my bus rides great, talking business, and filling me in on how important social media really is. Brad Fusaro, Captain, you’re a great leader and someone that I look up to all the time. The Bank, not much more needs to be said thanks for all the good times! Tommy Robaczewski, well buddy you have been living with me for 3 years now and wow, the memories we’ve shared. Some that can’t even be talked about, but one that can be is the night that it took us 3 hours to beat the original Super Mario Brothers, what a celebration. Our first year living together wow, talk about needing money, Scrap metal, and dumpstar diving. Our second year, I couldn’t tell you how many estate sales we went to and didn’t buy a thing. Senior year, we finally got a house, well that’s all that needs to be said. Thank you for the memories buddy.
I will never forget the memories that have been made with all of the boys. I want to thank everyone in my senior class. I know that you guys are family for life and I will stay in contact with all of you. Good luck to the future classes. I hope that your experiences will be as enjoyable as mine. Keep building on the traditions we have taught you, and I wish you all the best.
