A Word From Coach Lindquist
Anne, Jimmy, and Ashling:
The three of you have been such terrific people to have on our teams, and we are going to miss you all!
Anne & Ash: It’s rare that I talk to one of you alone, let alone see you without each other, and I think that’s AWESOME. You both bring such new and interesting aspects to our program, and together is how I will remember always you. I really believe that a life-long friendship has been built between the two of you here in our program. Hang on to it! Not only that, but your friendship has overflowed in to the rest of the team and is infectious in a very wonderful way. I hope you remain friends not only with each other for many, many years, but also with all the others around you. Take some time as we wind down your swimming to careers to celebrate and enjoy! In the words of the great actor and, lets be honest, person, Bruce Willis (aka John McClane), “Welcome to the party, pal (s).” ?
Jimmy: Thanks so much for finding us and bringing your unique style and personality to our team. I hope you have enjoyed being a part of our program as much as we have enjoyed having you. You have been a great friend and teammate to all. You and I have had some great chats and covered some crazy topics, bands, movies… and more, and I know your teammates and friends have enjoyed similar as well. Thanks for being you! It’s been a blast.
To the three of you, I must also say that your accomplishment and contributions in the water will also be missed. Day in and day out I can count on you to bring a work ethic, a quality attitude, and leadership to the pool, weight room, Water Polo! and even on the track. Especially this year, as our leaders. Please know that your leadership-by-example was not unnoticed. Thanks for all you’ve done.
Each year we welcome new faces to the team, and you have helped us do that again. Unfortunately, each year we much also say good bye to our Seniors. Meeting new students, getting to know them, and helping them succeed in the pool and throughout their college careers is a great thing. Say ‘so long’ is difficult. But we look forward to seeing where your lives will take you and hope you will come back from time to time and share and remember with your Swmmin’ Family.
From all of us at Saint Mary’s Swimming & Diving, we wish you the BEST, and say ‘Thank You!’ for sharing your time at here at Saint Mary’s University with us.
You will all be missed and are welcome back in your pool at any time.
Best wishes,
Coach
