Christian Bids Farewell

It has been a fantastic 18 years that I have been able to play hockey and I have loved every moment of it. I am going to miss playing but I will never forget the friends and memories that were made along the way.

I would first like to thank my parents Monica and Bryan. Without either of you my hockey career would not have been possible. Dad, we have had some great times together. You coached me all the way up until high school hockey and I would not be the goaltender I am today without your guidance along the way. From the early morning practices at Colombia Arena, to the out of town tournaments all over Minnesota, you taught me that hard work and doing the little things right can get you anywhere. What you taught me I will carry on long after my career is finished. Mom, you're my number one loudest fan. You have always supported me by coming to all of my hockey games no matter where they were and no matter what team I have been on. Even when you had to leave the game to go to the bathroom because  it is too stressful to watch I know you are still cheering loud for me. I know it is tough being a goaltenders mother, but you did a great job of it. The support you both have given me through the highs and the lows of my hockey career is what has gotten me to where I am today. Thank you and I love you both.

Thank you to the rest of my relatives who have been a huge support for my hockey career. Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles, no matter what team I was on you were in the stands wearing my teams colors, cheering loud for me. It's is always nice to look up and see your own fan section, so thank you.  My brothers got the short end of the stick being dragged to all of my sporting events, but it meant the world to see you at my games even when you didn't want to be. Hope some of it was fun for you along the way.

Next I would like to say thank you to all of my past coaches and programs that I have played for in the past 18 years that saw potential in me and never gave up in teaching me how to be a better goaltender. Without you, I would not have made it to Saint Mary’s and been able to be part of the great program we have here.

I'd like to thank Coach Moore for giving me the chance to continue to play hockey for him. It has been a quick three years but I have enjoyed everyday I've come to the rink. Thank you Saint Mary’s for the opportunity to come play hockey here while getting an education. It is an honor to play here for your team.

The boys! I am going to miss all of the times that we have had together and memories we created. You made the tough days at the rink better, all of the bag skates, early mornings, and our fitness tests. Our cardinal family is one that will never be broken.  Jed, Bob, Big Brad, Marty, and T Dog, we have had some great times in 227. You are all the best roomies anyone can ask for. We kill it with our bunker games, jinx, and lava. We will have more memories to come in the future.

Thank you to all of the fans who come to our games. Whether you are a student, parent, or a big cardinal fan, you are the final piece of our team. We are not the same without you.

Finally I would like to thank God for everything that I have been blessed with to be able to pursue my hockey career. I would not have been able to be where I am without Him.

I'm proud to be a Cardinal.
