A Word From Coach Moore

A Word From Coach Moore

The men’s hockey team has four graduating seniors that are tremendous examples of student-athletes. Whether it is on the ice or in the classroom, these young men possess the characteristics needed to be successful in life: hard-work, commitment, dedication, loyalty, as well as many others.

Mike Wolter
Mike has been an extremely valuable player for us over his four-year career.  Being asked to play many different roles, Mike came to Saint Mary’s as a defenseman.  After two years, we asked him to convert to being a center.  He did it without any hesitation and has been a great addition to our forward lines.  His greatest contribution to our team is his leadership ability.  Serving as one of our captains this season, Mike has had a great influence on our younger players.  Graduating as a Biology major, the Cardinals players and staff want to thank Mike for his hard work and wish him all of the best in the future.

Jed McGlasson
Jed has been an integral part of the Cardinal offense.  His speed, tenacity, and toughness make him a threat every shift.  Jed’s personality has allowed him to be a leader in the Cardinal locker room his entire career.  Serving as a captain this season, Jed his a tremendous communicator to both the other players in the locker room and the coaching staff.  Graduating with a triple major of Business Intelligence & Analytics, Finance, and International Business, the Cardinals players and staff want to thank Jed for his hard work and wish him all of the best in the future.

Bob Marx
Bob has been a catalyst for this team’s continued improvement during his four-year career here at Saint Mary’s University.  He has been the captain of the team for the past two years.  Receiving all-conference honorable-mention honors last year, Bob has been among the top 2 scoring defensemen in the MIAC the last three years.  His tremendous leadership both on and off the ice has raised the standards for all Cardinal Hockey players.  The entire team would like to congratulate Bob on being accepted into dentistry school next year.  Graduating as a Biology major with an emphasis in Pre-Dentistry, the Cardinals players and staff want to thank Bob for his hard work and wish him all of the best in the future.

Christian Gaffy
Current and future hockey players would do well to model themselves after Christian Gaffy.  His hard work and dedication to the team has been remarkable.  Whether starting the next game or backing up, his teammates knew that Christian’s work ethic was outstanding.  Holding himself to the highest standards both on and off the ice, he received MIAC Academic All-Conference honors last year.  The entire team would like to congratulate Christian on his securing a job that will begin after the season is over.  Graduating as a Finance and Accounting major, the Cardinals players and staff want to thank Christian for his hard work and wish him all of the best in the future.
