What a journey these past four years have been with Saint Mary’s Soccer.
To my family, thank you for supporting me my entire soccer career. Mom and Dad, I cannot repay you for the amount of hours you spent driving me around making sure I was at every practice and every game. Also, thank you for pushing me to be a better player, and more importantly a better person. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you guys, and I am forever grateful. Matt and Brian, you two have been my biggest role models growing up. I have learned so much from you guys not only in soccer, but every single aspect of life. I know even though we are all in different parts of the country, I can call either one of you and you’ll be there for me and I love you guys for that. Thank you.
To the coaching staff, thank you for a phenomenal four years of soccer. Coach Watkins, thank you for everything you have done for me. You gave me an opportunity at Saint Mary’s, and I am forever grateful for that. I also wanted to congratulate you on an amazing career, and I wish you luck with your new job. Coach Corbin, even though you have only been with us for one season, you have made such a big impact on this team and I can’t wait to see what you are able to do in the years to come. Thank you to the entire coaching staff for making me a better player, friend, son, brother, and coach.
To my teammates, I love every single one of you guys. To the freshman, soak up every bit of information that you can. You are the future of the program and I am excited to see what you can do in the years to come. To the sophomores, you guys are becoming leaders on the team and I couldn’t be more excited for you guys. To the Juniors, this is your team now. I can’t wait to be watching you guys in the playoffs next year. The future is so bright and keep working hard and you will achieve everything you want. To my fellow Seniors, you boys are my brothers, and I wouldn’t have wanted to be on this journey with anyone else. James Larson, you have put in so much for this program, and worked incredibly hard for us. Thank you. Jim Dreshar, you came from Luther, and instantly made an impact on our team. You are a great friend and never forget, B’s and B’s. Victor Mendoza, you came to us from Xavier and I think everyone is glad you decided to make that move because you’re just a stand-up guy. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the team and remember, real recognizes real. Nate Blank, you have been an incredible friend, and are always there for me no matter what, and I think the entire team would say the same thing too. That speaks volumes to the type of teammate, and person you are.
Special shout out to Brandon Quin, he may not be on the team anymore but the legend of Brandon Quin will always live through Saint Mary’s Men’s Soccer Team. Also thank you to my roommates, Michael Doheny, Garrett Grunke, Nate Blank, and Brandon Quin for keeping me in line and always being there for me.
One last thing, Saturdays will always be for the boys.
