Haley Bids Farewell

Coach J-
I don’t even know where to start. I owe much of where I am today to you. Thank you again for offering me a job at the rink my sophomore year and teaching me how to drive the Zamboni, which was a process that seemingly took forever. I want to thank you for helping me the past three years and always being a support system that I could count on. I have learned so much not only through managing but also through my time working for you in the rink. Finding another boss like you will be like hitting the lottery.

Jill-
Thank you for keeping me company day in and day out at practice and always being so supportive of me. I’m very lucky to have you in my life. We’ve had many laughs over the past 3 years. From laughter to tears and excitement to sadness. We’ve been through it all, side by side and I cannot thank you enough for that.

Ben-
Special k, from camp to class to the time inside the rink, thank you for everything; and more importantly thank you for exchanging nicknames that I know we both love. You have brought so much to this team, and there couldn’t have been a better addition to the coaching staff. As I go through the rest of my life I will always have your voice in the back of my head saying, “don’t be shitty.”

Bill-
Our past three years have been a rollercoaster to say the least. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to manage this team. I know that it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but through it all you have always been there for me. Thank you for all the opportunities, and to say I learned a lot from this experience would be an understatement. I know you’ll miss me when I’m gone and all the little daily reminders I give you, so here’s one more … don’t blow your whistle in the hallway. Everyone will appreciate that.

Boys-
Where to start? First, I want to thank you all—past and present—for accepting me with open arms from the first day I started. My biggest fear was that you wouldn’t accept me. Thank you for the many memories (my 21st  and the MIAC Championship game) to name a few and many more, also I want to thank you for all the laughs along the way. I will admit that if I didn’t start managing you guys, I would have left and transferred. You guys really helped me make this place home and become like a family to me. I am so proud of you all and the places and adventures we have gone through together. I want to thank you all for supporting me and being great friends and better brothers.  I couldn’t have asked for any better. A special thanks goes out to the boys who helped me everyday, you know who you are. You really made my life easier—especially on game days and the away trips. I really appreciated your help.

Parents-
Thank you guys for always being so supportive and loving. You did a great job raising all your sons. I’ll miss you all and thank you for everything along the way.

Mom and Dad-
My whole life, through thick and thin you have always been there for me. Even if you didn’t agree with everything I have done. I truly don’t say it enough, but thank you for everything you have done for me my whole life and for supporting me along the way. I love you both! Mom, thank you for always making the boys treats and bringing them to the games. Also, thank you both for always making the trip to the games in the cities. I could not have asked for a better support system through out my life.

Others-
Friends, family faculty and staff and anyone I may have missed thank you for always sticking with me through out the last three years and being supportive.

I never thought that these three years would go so fast; I have basically spent six days a week at the rink since October 2013 my sophomore year. Over the past 3 years this place, the rink has become my home and I will miss it; all of it, the madness, frustration, chaos, triumphs, happiness and excitement. With that being said this is not goodbye, but see you later.
