• 2020 RECAP: The Eagles closed out the 2020, pandemic-shortened season with a 3-9 record, including a 3-7 mark in NACC play. … Edgewood picked up two of its three wins in 2020 against Marian, beating the Sabres 3-2 and 3-1 on March 14. The Eagles’ other win was a 3-0 victory over MSOE on April 11. On the flip side, suffered five 3-0 setbacks, while also falling in four sets three times and dropping one five-setter. 
• ON THE ATTACK: Edgewood spread out the offensive wealth in 2020, boasting four players with more than 70 kills, led by Mackenzie Doherty, who led the way with 112 kills. Abbey Maier (82), Amanda Carlson (72), and Carlee Doering (72) also recorded 70 or more kills last season. … Doering closed out the year hitting a team-best .287, with Doherty leading the charge with 360 attack attempts.
• SETTING THE STAGE: Brittany Sager and Taylor Salmon were the Eagles’ assist leaders in 2020, with Sager amassing a team-high 207 helpers, followed closely by Salmon with 150. … Salmon posted a single-match season-high 25 assists against Concordia-Wisconsin on March 28. She finished the year with 20 or more assists three times. Sager also owned three 20-plus assist matches.
• DIGGING IN: Sarah Uczen delivered a team-leading 206 digs a year ago, followed by Carlson (85) and Mackenzie Doherty (79). … Uczen averaged 4.68 digs-per-set and had 10 or more digs in 11 of Edgewood’s 12 matches — including a season-best 32-digs effort against Lakeland on April 1. … Uczen had four matches with 20 or more digs in 2020.
• THIS AND THAT: As a team, Edgewood closed out the 2020 season with 453 kills, 11 more than its opponents, and owned 424 assists and 590 digs. … Edgewood served up 90 aces in 12 matches, led by Carlson with 19 and Uczen with 18. … Two of the Eagles’ three wins came on the road last season — Edgewood was 1-5 at home and 2-4 on the road.
