• 2019 RECAP: The Falcons have not played since dropping a 3-0 decision UW-Whitewater in the WIAC Tournament semifinals on Nov. 7, 2019. UW-River Falls did not play during the 2020, pandemic-shortened fall-to-spring season. … UW-River Falls finished 22-13 in 2019, including a 3-4 showing in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. … The Falcons played 10 of their 39 matches in 2019 on their home court, going 6-4. UW-RF was 3-3 on the road, and 13-6 in neutral-site matches.
• ON THE ATTACK: The Falcons owned a balanced offensive attack in 2019, boasting five players with 200 or more kills — including three who eclipsed the 300-kill plateau. Katie Koerper led the Falcon charge with 355 kills, followed by Dakotah Poitra (321), Mallory Griffin (311), Karli Nielsen (272), and Sarah Langlois (227). … Nielsen boasted a team-leading .299 attack percentage, while Poitra (1041) and Koerper (1008) each recorded more than 1000 attack attempts. … UW-River Falls had a player record 20 or more kills twice in 2019 — Poitra posted 21 kills against St. Scholastica.
• SETTING THE STAGE: Hailey Huseth was the Falcons’ set-up person in 20198, accounting for 1132 of the team’s 1524 assists. Huseth averaged 9.68 assists-per-set, and recorded 20 or more matches with 40 or more assists — including a season-high 58-assist effort against St. Scholastica on Oct. 26. Huseth ended the year with 18 assists-dig double-doubles.
• DIGGING IN: Hannah Robb amassed a team-leading 666 digs in 2019, averaging 5.12 digs-per-set. Poitra (423), Mallory Griffin (329), and Huseth (318) also recorded more than 300 digs for the Falcons in 2019.
• THIS AND THAT: As a team, UW-River Falls recorded 1672 kills (12.86 kps) and hit .210. The Falcons finished the year with 1524 assists, 2403 digs, 238 aces and 187 blocks. … The Falcons closed out 2019 with six players owning 20 or more service aces, led by Huseth (44) and Griffin (43). … Eleven of UW-RF’s 22 wins in 2019 were 3-0 sweeps. The Falcons also had four-set wins and five that went the maximum five sets. On the flip side, UW-RF was swept in six of its 13 losses, while dropping five 3-1 decisions and two five-setters.
