• 2020 RECAP: The Knights closed out the pandemic-shortened 2020 season with a 7-2 record, including wins in its last five contests. … Both of the Knights’ losses were 3-2 decisions, falling to both Cornell and the University of Dubuque in five sets. On the flip side, Wartburg owned five 3-0 wins, while adding one four-set victory and one that went the maximum five sets.
• ON THE ATTACK: Wartburg closed out 2020 with two players recording 100 or more kills — Zaiah Quirk (135) and Kennedy Meister (109). … Quirk averaged 4.45 kills-per-set and was second to Kylie Bildstein (.343) with a .341 attack percentage. … Quirk owned 10 or more kills in eight of the Knights’ nine matches — including a season-high 21-kill effort against Luther on March 22.
• SETTING THE STAGE: Claire Marsh and Sydney Rottinghaus shared the setting duties for the Knights a year ago, with Marsh owning a team-high 225 assists, while Rottinghaus chipped in 130. … Marsh averaged 6.62 assists-per-set and Rottinghaus averaged 4.64 aps.
