HOME SWEET HOME: Carleton collected three of its five wins last season on its home court. The Knights closed out the year 3-5 in their eight home contests, while going 2-12 away from South Gym.

ON THE ATTACK: Carleton finished 2022 with 863 kills (10.65 kps) and boasted four players who eclipsed the 100-kill mark. Kerrigan Candra led the way for Carleton a year ago, compiling 237 kills, while Annalise Sokolow was one kill shy of 200, and Jancyn Appel (150) and Sylvia Dixon (113) also reached the century mark in kills. … Candra recorded 10 or most kills in 15 matches a year ago, including a single-match season-high 20 against Crown on Sept. 28. …

GIVING AN ASSIST: Isabel Macia accounted for 688 of Carleton’s 784 assists last season. Kelly Smith was a far-distant second on the team with 24 helpers. … Macia recorded 15 of more assists in all 22 matches a year ago, including 40+ assists five times. … Macia dished out a single-match season-high 51 assists against Crown on Sept. 28.
• SERVING UP ACES: As a team, Carleton delivered 145 aces last season, and finished the year with five players serving up 10 or more aces. … Candra led the Knight servers with 29 aces, two more than Macia and three up on Sokolow, while Ella Curtis-Revelle and Sylvia Dixon each chipped in 14.

DIGGING IT: Candra and Sokolow closed out 2022 as the team-leaders in digs with 210 and 201, respectively, with Kelley Smith (160), Macia (146), and Curtis-Revelle (118) also finished the year with more than 100 digs. … Candra recorded 10 or more digs in a match 10 times, including a season-high 19-dig effort against Nebraska Wesleyan ion Sept. 24.

DOUBLING UP: Candra finished the year with a team-leading nine kill/dig double-doubles, while Macia chipped in three assist/dig double-doubles last season.

CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Three of Carleton’s five wins last season came via 3-0 sweeps, while the other two were decided by 3-1 counts. On the flip side, the Knights were swept in eight of its 17 losses last season, while also dropping five, four-set decisions, and going 0-4 in five-setters. … Carleton managed to win back-to-back matches just once — beating Mount Mary (3-0) and Crown (3-1) on Sept. 24 and Sept. 28, respectively. … After opening the season with a win, Carleton lost its next nine straight. The Knights also struggled through two, two-match losing streaks and a season-ending four-match slide.
