FOR THE RECORD: Elmhurst heads into its season-opening weekend on the heels of a 7-19 showing in 2022, including a 3-5 mark in CCIW play.

HOME SWEET HOME: Elmhurst collected four of its seven wins a year ago on its home court. The Bluejays finished the year 4-8 at home, while going 3-11 away from R.A. Fananal Hall.

ON THE ATTACK: Elmhurst closed out 2022 boasting four players with 150 or more kills, led by Jada Wiley and Elise Rossing, who both eclipsed the 200-kill plateau. Wiley collected a team-high 294 kills, followed by Rossing with 253. Lacey Kaiser (183) and Keely Larson (162) also surpassed the century mark.

GIVING AN ASSIST: The Bluejays finished the year with three players who dished out more than 200 assists, led by Keilyn Kennedy with 347. Erin Murray chipped in 303 helpers, while Hannah Horn added 222.
• SERVING UP ACES: Elmhurst served up 187 assists in 2022, and boasted eight players who recorded 10 or more aces. Peyton Ceh led the way for the Bluejays with 43 aces, followed by Wiley with 27, Kennedy with 25, Kayla Daros with 21, and Murray with 20.

DIGGING IT: Ceh recorded a team-leading 416 digs last season. She was one of four Bluejays with 100 or more digs, being joined by Wiley (333), Daros (198), and Kennedy (117).

DOUBLING UP: Wiley finished the season with a team-leading 15 kill/dig double-doubles, with Kennedy adding two assist/dig double-doubles and Horn adding one.

CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Elmhurst closed out the 2022 season dropping seven of its final eight matches. … The Bluejays suffered through two season-high six-match losing streaks. … Elmhurst won back-to-back matches just once last season — beating both Augustana (Ill.) and Illinois Wesleyan 3-1 in mid-October. … Three of Elmhurst’s seven wins were 3-0 sweeps, while the Bluejays also post3ed a pair of four- and five-set victories. On the flip side, Elmhurst was swept in seven of its 19 losses. The Bluejays also dropped four, four-set contests, while falling a whopping eight times in five-setters.
