• FOR THE RECORD: St. Scholastica heads to Winona for the Sugar Loaf Classic come off an 11-12 season in 2022, including a 4-7 mark in its 11-game MIAC slate.
• LIMPING TO THE FINISH LINE: St. Scholastica dropped six of its final seven games last season, sandwiching three-match losing streaks around a 3-1 win over Macalester. All told, CSS dropped three straight matches three times last season, while also suffering through a season-high four-match losing streak. On the flip side, nine of the Saints’ 11 wins came during winning streaks of four and five matches.
• ROAD WARRIORS: St. Scholastica played 16 of its 23 matches in 2022 on the road. The Saints finished 4-3 on their home court, while going 7-9 away from Reif Gym in Duluth, Minn.
• ON THE ATTACK: St. Scholastica closed out the 2022 season with 1,039 kills, and boasted five players with 100 or more kills. … Jessica Remer led the way for CSS, compiling 305 kills (3.67 kps), while Lindsey Baribeau was second on the team with 210 kills (2.59 kps). Ava Swangstue (122), Ashley Larson (121), and Caitlin Schneeweis (113) also eclipsed the 100-kill marker in 2022. … Remer posted 10 or more kills in 19 of the team’s 23 matches, including a season-high 24-kill effort against Redlands on Sept. 2.
• GIVING AN ASSIST: Katie Brostrom was the Saints’ assist leader last season, closing out the year with 746 helpers (8.38 aps), with Grace Myhre a distant second on the team with 102. … Brostrom delivered 19 or more assists in all 23 matches a year ago, including a 45-assist effort against Occidental and a 50-assist performance against Redlands on Sept. 2.
• SERVING UP ACES: St. Scholastica delivered 136 aces last season, led by Brostrom with 42. Baribeau (18), Alcia Draper (17), Reimer (17), Bailee Hess (15), and Schneeweis (11) also reached double digits in aces a year ago.
• DIGGING IT: Draper recorded a team-best 532 digs in 2022. She was one of six Saints to record at least 100 digs, being joined by Remer (255), Brostrom (203), Hess (141), Schneeweis (14), and Larson (102). … Draper collected 30 or more digs four times last season, including a season-high 41 against Concordia on Oct. 7.
• DOUBLING UP: Remer led the Saints with 13 kills/dig double-doubles last season, while Brostrom chipped in eight assist/dig double-doubles. The duo were the only to CSS players with a double-double in 2022.
CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS: Six of St. Scholastica’s 11 wins came in four sets. CSS also posted three, 3-0 victories and a pair of five-set wins. On the flip side, the Saints were swept in five of their 12 losses, while also dropping four, four-set contests and three five-setters. … As a team, St. Scholastica posted a season-high 60 kills in a match twice – vs. Redlands on Sept. 2 and against Carleton on Sept. 17. … CSS also posted season-highs in assists (57) and aces 14) against Redlands on Sept. 2.
