Nick Whaley is an assistant baseball coach at Saint Mary’s University, a position he held on a volunteer basis since the 2012-13 season, before being upgraded to a full-time assistant prior to the 2022 season.
Prior to his full-time promotion, Whaley served as a physical education/health teacher and Department Chair at Winona Cotter High School, where he also was the Ramblers’ head baseball coach from 2009-2011 and 2014-2016
Whaley is no stranger to Saint Mary’s, having served as the Cardinals head baseball coach from 1997-2008, leading Saint Mary’s to a pair of conference tournament appearances.
Before accepting the head coaching position at Saint Mary’s, Whaley spent five years as the head coach at Henry Sibley High School, where his teams accumulated a 73-27 record, including a state championship in 1994.
