Alexis Foley joined the Saint Mary’s women’s basketball coaching staff in 2025 as an assistant coach, bringing with her a strong background in both coaching and collegiate playing experience.

Foley came to Saint Mary’s after six successful seasons at UW-Stout, where she helped guide the Blue Devils to a 2022-23 WIAC Championship, their first since 2007, and consistent postseason appearances. During her tenure, UW-Stout produced 12 All-WIAC selections, three WIAC All-Defensive Team honorees, two WIAC Newcomers of the Year, and three D3hoops.com All-Region selections. Off the court, the program also thrived academically with 77 WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll recipients and five CSC Academic All-District honorees.

Prior to UW-Stout, Foley served as a graduate assistant at Winona State University for the 2017–18 season, helping lead the Warriors to a 17-win season and an appearance in the NSIC Tournament championship game.

Foley enjoyed a standout playing career as a collegiate guard. She spent her final two seasons at Winona State, where she helped lead the Warriors to a program-best 30-4 record and their first NSIC Conference Championship in 2015-16. That season, she averaged 15 points and 4 assists per game and earned numerous honors, including All-NSIC First Team, NSIC All-Tournament Team, All-Region Second Team, and WBCA All-American Honorable Mention. She was also named to the NSIC All-Academic Team. Foley began her playing career at Illinois State University, starting 34 games over two seasons.

A native of White Bear Lake, Minn., Foley was a two-sport standout in basketball and soccer. She is White Bear Lake High School’s all-time leading scorer and was a two-time all-state selection, three-time all-conference pick, and a 2012 Minnesota Ms. Basketball finalist. On the soccer field, she was a five-year starter, two-time All-American, and earned Minnesota’s Ms. Soccer award.

Foley holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary mathematics and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Winona State University.
