Amber Sorenson is an assistant women’s basketball coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a position she has held since the 2016-2017 academic school year.
After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 2016, Sorenson began her coaching career as a women’s basketball graduate assistant at Dordt College. At Dordt, Sorenson helped defeat the No. 8- and No. 22-ranked teams in the NAIA National Poll.
As a player, Sorenson played five seasons for the University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball team. During her senior year, Sorenson broke the school record for made 3-pointers (97) and finished second all-time in career 3-pointers. She averaged 12.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and had 36 blocks. She was an All-Missouri Valley Conference selection and an MVC Scholar-Athlete. The Panthers made three WNIT tournament appearances during her career.
Sorenson is a native of Caledonia, Minn.
