Jason Carter is the assistant women’s hockey coach at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, a position he has held since the start of the 2017-18 academic school year.
Prior to coming to Saint Mary’s, Carter spent five years as an assistant varsity hockey coach for Shakopee High School. While there, he spent two years with the boy’s program and the last three with the girl’s program. He also taught middle school health and physical education in the Shakopee School District, and coached a variety of other sports including golf, tennis, and soccer.
A four-year member of the University of St. Thomas men’s hockey team, Carter had a short minor-league playing career with the Evansville Icemen, before transitioning into coaching. Carter earned his undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education degree from St. Thomas, and completed his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary’s.
