Sarah Murray is the head women’s hockey coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a position she has held since the start of the 2019-2020 academic school year.

In her first season behind the Cardinal bench, Murray guided Saint Mary's to an MIAC Tournament berth. The fifth-seeded Cardinals knocked off fourth-seeded St. Thomas in the quarterfinals, before falling to regular-season champion Gustavus 4-1 in the semifinals.

During her second season in 2020-21, Murray and the Cardinals had to play through the COVID-19 pandemic, managing a 10-game game schedule that included all games against conference opponents.

Under Murray's direction, the Cardinals returned to the MIAC Playoffs in 2021-22. Saint Mary's finished third in the regular-season standings, dropped Saint Benedict 5-3 in the quarterfinals, before falling to Hamline 4-2 in the semis. Murray's Cardinals finished 13-10-2 in 2021-22 — the most wins since the 2003-04 season.

Prior to jumping into the coaching realm, Murray put together a rather impressive resume as a player, picking up back-to-back national titles while playing for Shattuck-St. Mary’s, and adding a pair of NCAA Division I national championships as a member of the UM-Duluth women’s hockey program.

A four-time WCHA All-Academic Team selection, Murray went on to play professionally in Switzerland, before taking over as the head coach of the South Korean National Team. Murray coached the Unified Korean National Team at the 2018 Pfeongchang Olympics.
