Abbie Campion has served as the Sports Information Director at Saint Mary’s University since August 2024. In her role, she oversees all aspects of athletic communications for the university’s 17 varsity sports, including media relations, statistics, website content, and social media strategy.
Since joining the Cardinal athletic department, Campion has played a key role in promoting championship-level success, including title-winning teams and an NCAA tournament appearance. Her efforts have helped raise the profile of Saint Mary’s student-athletes and teams across regional and national platforms.
In 2025, Campion served as the lead media contact for Saint Mary’s when the university hosted the first and second rounds of the 2024-25 NCAA Division III Women’s Softball Championships ensuring smooth operations and effective coverage throughout the event.
Before arriving at Saint Mary’s, Campion graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies with an emphasis in Professional Communications. She spent three and a half years in their athletics department and served as the Athletic Media Assistant. In that role, she gained broad experience in stat-keeping, announcing sporting events, writing articles and biographies, and assisting with video production and coverage.
She was a four-year member of the Pointers’ women’s basketball team, she earned All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team honors in her senior season. Campion was also actively involved in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), where she held an executive position for two years and played a key role in leading the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
A native of Janesville, Wisconsin, Campion is passionate about sports, loves to travel, and enjoys exploring new foods as an avid foodie.
