Originally from Eagan, Minnesota, Derek Hansen began his role as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in April 2025.
He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in Kinesiology.
While at St. Olaf, he was a two-sport athlete, competing in both baseball and football. In football, he earned 3x All-MIAC honors and was named an All-American in 2024.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and holds CPR/AED certification through the American Red Cross.
