Palmer, who missed Wednesday's game at Bethel due to an injury, made his presence felt on Saturday, scoring 31 points and hauling in 11 rebounds in the SMU men's basketball team's 76-63 win over Macalester at the SMU Gym. More impressive than Palmer's 31 points — second-most only to his career-best 37 earlier this season — or 10th double-double of the season was the fact that Palmer scored 21 of his 31 points from the free-throw line, where he finished 21-for-23.

Palmer's 21 free throws made tied the MIAC's single-game record, originally set during the 1957 season.
