Balsiger was a scoring machine in the Cardinal men’s soccer team’s 9-0 rout of North Central last Thursday.
 
The senior midfielder scored once and added three assists against the Rams. The five-point game against North Central last Thursday was not only a career-best, but also the highest individual total since Andrew Jaworski’s five-point effort against Bethany Lutheran in 2014 — and was one point shy of the single-game school record.
 
Balsiger’s three-assist effort vs. the Rams, which was also a career-high, marked the second time this season Saint Mary’s has had a player record three assists in a game — Zack Bracken (Osseo, Minn.) achieved the feat against Marian on Aug. 30.
 
Through the first six games of the season, Balisger leads the team in both goals (4) and points (11).
