loss to Cobbers
MOORHEAD, Minn. – After back-to-back double-overtime games – not to mention three 2 OT games among their last four – Saint Mary's University men's soccer coach Chris Dembiec was hoping for a traditional, 90-minute affair when his Cardinals took the field Saturday against Concordia.
And the Cardinals head coach got his wish.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals could have used a little extra time, as Concordia raced out to a 2-0 advantage in the game's opening 18 minutes and never looked back en route to a 4-0 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over SMU.

Riley McGlynn got the Cobbers on the board before the fans could even get situated in their seats, beating SMU goalkeeper Jon Szafranski (Barrington, Ill.) in the game's third minute. CC would make it 2-0 14 minutes later, as Jared Rice netted his second of the season.

The Cobbers in general and McGlynn in particular picked up right where they left off in the second half, as McGlynn netted his second and third goals of the game to push Concordia's advantage to 4-0.

Szafranski finished with five saves for the Cardinals, who fell to 0-3-1 in the MIAC and 4-5-2 overall, while Mads Schmidt stopped all three SMU shots in recording the shutout.
