: The Cardinals got on the board first, as Steve Murphy (Anchorage, Alaska) netted the first of his two goals, but Augsburg responded with five unanswered goals en route to a 6-2 win over SMU in Minneapolis, Minn., Friday evening.

A Year Ago: SMU and Augsburg closed out their regular-seasons with a pair of one-goal games a year ago. The Cardinals got two goals from David Gross and three assists by Adam Gill en route to a 4-3 victory at the SMU Ice Arena, while the Auggies scored three times in the second period and pushed their lead to 5-1 early in the third before holding off a late charge in a 5-4 victory in Minneapolis, Minn.

Cardinal Notes: Steve Murphy (Anchorage, Alaska) scored both goals for the Cardinals vs. Augsburg Friday. Woodward# (Lenexa, Kan.), Mike Glaesmer (Traverse City, Mich.) and Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.) are the other three, boasting 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively. … Bohn's nine assists are also a team high. … SMU's loss to Augsburg extended its losing streak to four straight. … Karac Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.), who stopped 31 shots en route to his first collegiate win (6-3 vs. Bethel on Jan. 30) in his first collegiate start, posted a career-best 40 saves in SMU's loss to St. Thomas Friday, then followed that up with 30 saves vs. Augsburg Friday. … SMU's six goals, 10 assists and 16 points vs. Bethel on Jan. 30 all equaled the team's season highs. … Fourteen of Saint Mary's 22 games have been against nationally ranked teams. Auggie Notes: Augsburg enters tonight's game red-hot, having won five straight, including Friday's 6-2 victory over SMU and last Saturday's 5-4 OT thriller vs. Hamline. … Jim Jensen and Nick Guran each scored two of Augsburg's six goals vs. the Cardinals, while Chris Johnson netted his team-leading 13th of the season. Mario Mjelleli, meanwhile, picked up four assists vs. SMU. … Johnson's goal vs. the Cardinals pushed his team-leading points total to 30. He is one of seven Augsburg players with 10 or more points. … Guran has scored 10 goals for the Auggies — six of which have come on the power play. … Cory Ellertson netted the overtime game-winner for the Auggies vs. Hamline.
