A Year Ago: The Tommies dominated SMU in the teams' two-game conference series last year. # Cierra Lopis# (Macomb, Mich.) netted her first collegiate goal — a second-period tally that knotted the game at 1-1, but the Tommies responded with three unanswered goals to ice the 4-1 win in Mendota Heights, Minn., on Feb. 16. A day later, the Tommies scored two goals in the second period and three more in the third en route to a 5-0 victory at the SMU Ice Arena.

Cardinal Notes: With their loss vs. St. Thomas on Friday, SMU dropped to 3-3-1 in its last seven games. … Friday's loss marked the first time in SMU's last four games in which the Cardinals allowed more than two goals. … On the flip side, SMU has been held to one goal or less in 10 of its 11 losses. … Madeline Lenz (White Bear Lake, Minn.), who stopped all 26 shots she faced in recording her first collegiate shutout last Saturday vs. Bethel, stopped 23 St. Thomas Friday. … Last Saturday's 4-0 win vs. Bethel was the Cardinals' first shutout victory of the season and first since Brittany Lemke stopped 26 shots in blanking Hamline 2-0 on Jan. 18, 2008. … Lenz stopped 40 of the Royals' 42 shots last Friday, marking the second time in 12 starts that the SMU freshman has stopped 40 or more shots. … Nicole Olson (New Brighton, Minn.) scored two of SMU's four goals vs. Bethel last Saturday, notching the first two-goal game of her collegiate career. … SMU's 3-3 tie vs. St. Olaf on Jan. 23 was the Cardinals' fourth overtime game of the season — and the first one to end in a tie. … Katie Cachey (Orland Park, Ill.) and Ingrid Klockars (Wheaton, Ill.) lead the team in goals with four. Tommie Notes: With their win vs. SMU on Friday and their two wins vs. Hamline last weekend, the Tommies extended their winning streak to five straight. UST is now 6-1-1 in its last eight games. … UST has played in three overtime games, going 2-0-1. Along with their 3-2 OT victory over Hamline last Saturday, the Tommies also topped Concordia 1-0 in overtime and tied Gustavus 1-1. … Friday's 5-0 win over SMU was the Tommies' fourth shutout win in their last five games — and their seventh shutout of the season. … Lauren Bradel and Lindsey Wilson have combined for a 1.10 goals-against-average and a .955 save percentage. Wilson has allowed just one goal in 213 minutes with three shutouts. … Jackie Carroll pushed her team-leading points total to 27 with three goals and an assist vs. SMU Friday.
