WINONA, Minn. — The Saint Mary's University men's hockey team, which dropped its second straight 5-2 decision to St. Olaf Friday evening in Northfield, Minn., returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday, playing host to the Oles in the second game of the teams' two-game conference series. Game time is 7 p.m. at the SMU Ice Arena.

Last Night: Charlie Raskob scored three goals and the Oles netted a pair of shorthanded goals, as St. Olaf raced out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back in handing the Cardinals a 5-2 setback Friday evening in Northfield, Minn.

Earlier This Year: November 7, 2009: The Oles scored two goals in the game's opening minute – and three in the opening 10 minutes – and then held off a furious SMU rally to beat the Cardinals 5-2 Saturday evening at the Northfield Ice Arena.

Ben Kitzmiller (Lambertville, Mich.) and Will Such (Broomfield, Colo.) netted SMU's two goals Friday evening. It was Kitzmiller's second of the season, while Such's goal was his first of the year. … Jason Horstman (Faribault, Minn.) stopped 41 shots Friday. The freshman's effort was one save shy of the career-high 42 saves he recorded vs. Concordia on Nov. 14. … Kevin Wentland (Columbia Heights, Minn.) picked up his fifth assist vs. the Oles Friday and has now recorded three goals and four assists in SMU's last five games. … Blake Zemaitis (Mount Prospect, Ill.) scored his first collegiate goal vs. UW-River Falls last Saturday. … Anthony Bohn (Spring Hill, Fla.) enters tonight's matchup with St. Olaf leading the team in all three offensive categories with four goals, eight assists and 12 points. … SMU's 28 goals have come from 15 different players, while 19 Cardinals have notched at least one point.  … Four of SMU's last five games have been decided by two goals or less  — with two of those two-goal losses including an empty net goal. … The Cardinals have surrendered 13 goals in the opening two minutes of a period through 13 games. … The Cardinals have been outscored 25-10 in the game's middle period and 20-10 in the third period. … SMU surrendered a pair of shorthanded goals vs. St. Olaf and have now allowed six shorthanded goals this season. … Last Saturday's game vs. UW-River Falls was the second overtime game of the season for SMU, which also tied Nichols 4-4 in overtime on Jan. 2.
